Bircher Muesli: Combine all bircher ingredients into a medium mixing bowl and refrigerate overnight, or for a minimum of 2 hours for quick-cook oats.
Poached Pear: Bring all poaching liquid ingredients to a boil in a medium saucepan. Reduce heat and add the pears. Simmer for 40 minutes turning every 10 minutes to ensure even cooking. Check the pears are cooked by piercing with a fork. The pears should be soft and the fork easily goes through. Once cooked, remove the pears and set aside. Turn the temperature up to high and reduce the poaching liquid down for 30 minutes until it has thickened. Remove from heat and add the pears back in to coat.
