Nestled within the historic charm of Auckland’s High Street – amid lanes populated with bespoke tailors, barbers, coffee houses and fashion designers – lies the delightfully art deco styled Hotel Debrett. It is the cornerstone of this iconic neighbourhood, just minutes from the bustle of the Britomart, lower Queen Street and popular Auckland waterfront.
Our 25 luxurious rooms – each with a distinct personality – are a chic mix of mid-century modern furniture fused with contemporary comforts designed to tickle the senses: luxurious beds, spacious bathrooms with heated floors, stand-alone rain showers and deep bathtubs, minibar stocked with local delicacies, LCD flat screen and free, fast WiFi.
Beyond our rooms, three welcoming spaces offer a welcoming atmosphere in striking surroundings. House Bar, at the heart of the hotel’s history and resplendent in elegant art deco detailing, serves delightfully imaginative cocktails with panache. Cornerbar, a touch of Kiwi retro, is a local watering hole. It provides the perfect perch from which to catch a conversation or just the hum of the city, washed down with local craft beers, boutique wines and a hearty menu. And lastly, our signature restaurant, Debrett’s Kitchen, specialises in contemporary New Zealand cuisine where menus are seasonal, creative and attuned to choice local produce. The restaurant is an airy, relaxed environment bathed in natural light provided by a soaring glass-roofed atrium, though each weekend transforms into a jazz joint when our 1920s-inspired high tea shimmies in, complete with Prohibition cocktails and faux pearls.
