It was a sad day for the community when CareVets Parnell announced their closure in June, but the blow was cushioned by the announcement that the good folks of Remuera Vets are to welcome all of Parnell’s former furry friends.
“We were saddened as we had a great professional working relationship with Parnell for many years,” says Remuera Vets’ Dr Colin Hill. “CareVets Parnell have forwarded their pets records to us so that we can seamlessly continue with their ongoing care. We genuinely hope they chose to become part of the RemVets family.”
Remuera Vets was founded by the then-recent graduate Colin (“it was many years ago!”) at 5 Norana Avenue, where he and his burgeoning team have practised ever since.
“From one vet and one nurse-receptionist,” beams the amiable animal doctor, “we have grown to the current staffing level of two full time veterinarians, two part time veterinarians, three practice nurses and three part time front-of-house staff.”
Though the practice has expanded over the years, Colin is proud that it still retains an intimate, family-feel, bolstered by the addition of his wife, Angela, who serves as practice manager to “ensure the smooth running of our daily routine”.
“Communication is vital,” says the head vet. “We appreciate that clients have different needs and circumstances so we design programmes to best suit each pet and their owner. In essence, we care very much about the animals entrusted in our care and work really hard to achieve the best possible outcome.”
Similar to that of Parnell, the practice sprouts from a gorgeous character villa, complemented by a manicured lawn and garden, with ample off-street parking around back to ensure pets’ safety as they enter and exit the practice.
“Our team can’t wait to welcome our new clients into the family,” says Colin, “so please feel free to pop in and say ‘hi’!”
