Styling Your Bed Linen Like a Pro

Does your room feel like it needs a refresh? How about starting with bed linen.

You start and end your day in your bed; your comfortable oasis that is desperately hard to get out of in the morning. You spend an average of 8 hours in bed a night (if you’re lucky) which equates to a significant amount of time amongst your soft and smooth sheets. After a while, those sheets can seem tired and boring, so why not switch them up a bit?

Bed linen is the focal point of any bed, and there are plenty of options on the market to refresh colours, textures, and patterns.

Linen Bedding

The delightfully natural feeling that linen bedding gives is unlike any other. Linen is made from flax fibres and is highly breathable, meaning it’s cool in summer and warm in winter. It’s also durable, hypo allergenic, environmentally friendly, and has a lovely textural quality.

Linen bedding offers an attractive, naturally crumpled texture which looks even better wash after wash, which means that you can give your ironing board a break.

Terracotta Tones

Earthy tones are at the forefront of bed linen, as they bring colours from the outside world in, to create something quite wonderful.

Terracotta is a warm yet neutral colour that can be paired with any existing bedroom items to create a serene yet impressive environment. Terracotta pairs perfectly with natural beiges and greys for a calming look, or with olive greens and charcoals for more of a contrasted colour palette.

Don’t Be Afraid of Subtle Texture

If you’ve had plain bedding for some time, why not try a duvet cover with a little bit of subtle texture?

Tufted duvet covers in neutral colours are a lovely way to introduce some interest into the bedroom. Rather than a plain and smooth duvet cover, a slightly tufted cover elevates the room and brings a soft texture to any bed situation.

A tufted cover can suit any style of bedroom and will provide you with a fantastically textured sleeping experience.

Minimalist and Fresh

If you really want to channel your inner minimalist, why not try a bed linen set in white or a light dove grey.

Using all white or a light grey creates an overall serene experience, and makes your bed look clean and fresh.

Having pale colours on your bed has calming and relaxing properties, which may even improve your sleep.
