Woolworths New Zealand is bringing back its popular Disney collectibles – and this year, there’s a special reason to celebrate. A new set of Disney Discs is hitting shelves to mark the 70th anniversary of Disneyland Resort in California.
Until 31 August, shoppers will receive a free pack of Disney Discs (one disc and one card) for every $30 spent in-store or online at Woolworths supermarkets, Metro stores, or MILKRUN.
“This special anniversary collection is a tribute to the imagination and joy that Disneyland has sparked over the past 70 years,” says Tim Everett from The Walt Disney Company. “We’re proud to keep bringing that magic into Kiwi homes through our partnership with Woolworths.”
Also available is a $13 collector’s album that doubles as a board game. It includes 3D buildable versions of some of Disneyland Resort’s most iconic attractions, so the discs become part of the fun at home.
“The new board game gives families even more ways to connect and create memories,” says Woolworths New Zealand’s Director of Brand, Bríd Drohan-Stewart.
There are 40 discs to collect, featuring characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, with designs inspired by Disneyland Resort locations like Galaxy’s Edge, Avengers Campus and Cars Land. One especially rare disc – showing the famous “Partners Statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse” in front of the legendary Sleeping Beauty Castle – will be a lucky find for only a few collectors.
“Whether you’re a long-time fan or getting into it for the first time, there’s something here for everyone,” adds Bríd.
Shoppers can also score bonus packs by purchasing select items, with up to three extra packs per brand per shop. A full list of participating products and terms is available at woolworths.co.nz.
