I think it’s fair to say that these uncertain times impact us all in different ways. Some of us get quiet, others get loud, some of us get busy doing anything and everything, others do nothing at all. Some of us get upset at everyone and everything and others revert to extreme positivity. “You just need to look on the bright side!” Yes, thanks for that insight. We’ve all really been trying to do that and for the most part succeeding, but the bright side has been more difficult to spot the longer this has all gone on. We understand the situation is necessary but that doesn’t make it any easier!
With light (red, yellow and green!) appearing at the end of our lockdown tunnel, it got me thinking about how life the last couple of years has felt a bit like driving in traffic. From parts crawling forwards, parts free flowing and parts in full stand still. There have been lovely people letting us into their lane and others cutting us off with rude signals and blaring horns. In honour of the traffic light future ahead of us, here is a traffic light playlist to get you through the last few weeks!
RED
I See Red – The Split Enz
Wandering Eye – Fat Freddy’s Drop
Chains – DLT & Che Fu
YELLOW
Slipping Away – The Meteors
Take it Easy – Stan Walker
Snail – BENEE
GREEN
Bliss – Th’ Dudes
Drive – Bic Runga
She Speeds – Straitjacket Fits
