A sanctuary from the chaos of addiction
We offer a clinical treatment programme with busy people in mind. Because many of our guests have families, businesses and professional reputations at stake, we understand that sometimes it’s just not possible to just abandon your responsibilities for long periods to get drug and alcohol treatment, which is why we customise treatment plans to suit you and your circumstances. Most people spend between two and four weeks with us and continue their treatment with our weekly aftercare programme.
The treatment programme
People can self-refer to Ocean Hills or be referred by their GP. They will then be assessed by our clinical staff, who can work in conjunction with their doctor. Our programme focuses on addiction education, trigger and craving management and developing practical tools to build and sustain a sober life. Home-cooked nutritious meals, rest and exercise are also important aspects of treatment. We also spend time in nature and offer massage, art, yoga and equine therapies.
There are only four guests at any time, which means a high level of support from our compassionate staff, 24 hours a day.

The home-away-from home facility is nestled in a friendly neighbourhood in Hastings, which is on the doorstep of some of the most stunning scenery in New Zealand.
Our guests enjoy being only a few minutes drive from the iconic Te Mata Peak, 25 minutes drive from the Art Deco capital of Napier and 30 minutes drive from the rugged beauty of Waimarama Beach.
