Beauty resolutions you should keep

As we approach the end of another year, naturally, we start to reflect on the past twelve months, re-evaluating those goals we made for ourselves at the beginning of 2021. Verve and the Global Beauty Group have teamed up to help you provide you with those beauty resolutions that you should keep for the new year and beyond.

  1. That skincare analysis you’ve been meaning to do – now is the time

When it comes to beauty routines, a trip to your dermatologist to to get a  personalised skincare analysis is key when wanting to identify your personal skin type, skin goals, what you need to treat and how to target these problems Your dermatologist will likely pop you into a skin analyser machine to get a really good look at what’s going on with your skin and will afterwards discuss your skin goals. After identifying your skin type they can also help make your journey that much easier by recommending the best skincare brand and/or products for your own unique skin type.

  1. Consistency is key!

When building your trusty skincare routine you will go through moisturisers, serums, toners and cleansers that either work incredibly well or just don’t work at all – it can be a series of trial and error! However, when you land on those products that do make a difference, consistency is key to achieving the very best in results.

  1. Vegan, cruelty-free and sustainable is always a good idea

With a plethora of different skincare companies boasting different values, there’s no reason not to choose vegan, sustainable and/or cruelty-free products when building your skincare regime. Doing our bit for the planet by reducing our footprint and looking after the animals is so important. Products with these values behind them also mean that that you can feel more secure knowing that your skincare products don’t contain harmful chemicals.

  1. SPF is always a good idea

Protecting your skin against harmful UV rays is essential when looking after your skin, as sun damage is responsible for 80% of visible signs of ageing including loss of firmness, dull complexion, uneven pigmentation, and an early onset of fine lines and wrinkles. SPF is also not limited to the summer season, but recommended all year round – even when it’s cloudy and raining!

  1. Less is more

Makeup is a form of art, and sometimes we need just that little bit extra. However, enhancing your unique facial features through the power of natural makeup is always a boss move. Embrace your freckles and your skins natural complexion by using SPF BB creams, light bronzers and minimal eyeshadow. Give your skin a good breather this summer!

  1. Keep up those regular facials and haircut appointment

The penultimate in ‘treat yourself,’ regular facials and haircut appointments will only make you feel good inside and out. Book yourself a hydro dermabrasion appointment, specifically suitable for those with sensitive skin but suitable for all skin types, and one of the best when it comes to exfoliating treatments. This treatment uses a combination of diamond tips and targeted skin solutions to rid skin of congestion, correct uneven skin tones, and treat blemishes and scarring, all whilst exfoliating and hydrating. Hydro dermabrasion also helps boost collagen levels and helps increase blood circulation. If hydro dermabrasion doesn’t sound like it’s for you, read up on all of the different treatments from salon suppliers and treat yourself to some well-deserved skin rejuvenation.

  1. Keep cleaning out that beauty cupboard!

Cleaning your beauty cupboard could’ve possibly been the most therapeutic and best move you made all year thanks to all that time at home during the pandemic. Deep cleaning your sponges and makeup brushes is something to carry through to the new year, looking after the condition of your skin. Throwing away empty or expired products are a great way to make room for some of the best skincare products, and also a great excuse to go out and treat yourself to some new ones!
