Co-vid Home Harmonies

We are calling on all musicians, musically minded, musical mad, and most importantly our Tamariki who just love to bang pots and pans, to get amongst some classic NZ Music.

We are not composers, heck half of us can’t even play the triangle, but we are all stuck at home so let’s all help to bring the nation together.

Each Monday morning of lockdown we will be naming an iconic NZ song. NZ will have one week to learn the song and then every Saturday night we will each live stream from our home bubble.

Whether you play from the end of your driveway for the whole street to enjoy, from your back garden to share with the neighbours over the fence, or from the lounge with the kids and homemade instruments, we want to hear everyone play and collectively amazing music will be made. Co-vid costumes are optional but we ask everyone to adhere to our necessary rules of lock-down and stay in their bubble.

Now we can band together as a Street, Road, Lane or Crescent!

We are asking the community to support the cause by sharing their videos or live home stream direct to our FB group or Instagram with the official hashtags #HOMEHARMONIES, #STAYATHOME so we can unite together online.

To make this happen WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Please share our FB Group and Event far and wide. Let’s get as much of our community partaking together (but separately) to create a virtual presence across our entire nation.

First up we have ‘Slice Of Heaven’ by legendary Dave Dobbyn. Sheet music and lyrics are available on our FB Group, as well as fun ideas for homemade instruments so anyone of any ability can join us on this journey.

The first Co-Vid Home Harmonies will be on Saturday 4th April at 6pm.
