A Year of Ballet Magic

The Royal New Zealand Ballet

The Royal New Zealand Ballet have announced another spectacular lineup of ballets for 2024.

The ever-popular Tutus on Tour returns to 12 regional theatres throughout Aotearoa to mark the end of summer and the start of a brand-new year of ballet-going.

Dance lovers of all ages can look forward to a programme which celebrates classical favourites and virtuoso ballet technique as well as offering a timely tribute to one of the RNZB’s founding fathers.

The year continues with two of the most beloved classic ballets, Swan Lake in association with Avis and the Ryman Healthcare Season of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Swan Lake is considered to be the greatest of all classical ballets, the perfect marriage of music and dance, taking the audience on a wave of beauty and emotion.

Then plan ahead for a very special Christmas treat with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, an all-time family favourite.

Midyear, the RNZB is also proud to bring Solace: dance to feed your soul in association with Ryman Healthcare. This is an exciting mixed-bill bringing a trio of premieres to Aotearoa; Wayne McGregor’s haunting Infra and two new commissions: To Hold by Sarah Foster-Sproull and High Tide by Alice Topp.
