Charred Cos Lettuce | The Healthy Skin Kitchen by Karen Fischer

Who knew charred lettuce was a thing … it tastes so good. Serve this in your Nourish Bowl or with chicken, fish or lamb (anything, really). This lettuce is delicious on its own — thanks to the maple syrup — but you can omit the maple syrup and drizzle it with Cashew Cream for a sugar-free wow factor.

Serves: 2 as a side salad

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

2 whole baby cos lettuces, washed and halved lengthwise

1 teaspoon real maple syrup

Method

Heat a large non-stick frying pan or skillet on medium heat, add a teaspoon of maple syrup or your oil of choice

and add the lettuce, flat side down, to brown on the side that has been cut. Serve warm.
