Curtain fabrics, wallcoverings, and interior furnishings are more than the sum of their parts. They can transport you to another place entirely. This April, Lahood® Window Furnishings launches a new series of showroom displays under the theme Design Journeys. Each display tells its own story, evoking not only the places and cultures that inspired the designs, but also bringing together carefully chosen elements, from textiles and rugs to furniture and cushions, to create an elegantly cohesive interior aesthetic.
VIBRANT EARTH
Taking pride of place in the window is the Vibrant Earth Design Journey, a richly layered display that speaks to the autumn season. Warm, earthy tones of russet and terracotta are having a moment, and this vignette captures that trend beautifully, evoking a sense of wellbeing, groundedness, and natural warmth. At its heart is Mokum Grande Terre Tamarind cotton-linen fabric, a hand-painted design alive with the lush tropical foliage and volcanic tones of the South Pacific. Alongside it, Heartland Russet by Textilia offers a soft, open-weave wool-blend fabric with an organic texture and warmly burnished tone. The Designer’s Collection Coffee Table and Awaroa Chair ground the display, while warm pink Elitis Cushion and the richly hued Bruyere cushion by Casamance add a final flourish.
ELEMENTAL CALM
The Elemental Calm Design Journey takes a more understated approach with a lounge vignette that reflects the quiet balance of nature’s elements. At its centre is Karumba by Charles Parsons, a 300cm-wide jacquard featuring a rhythmic, Aztec-inspired pattern, softened by a palette of calm olive green and steel grey. Layered textures anchor the space, with a jute rug by Weave in Mineral paired with the Nevis wool throw in Kelp, the Vittoria four-seater sofa in Oat Boucle and the Atlas Marble Coffee Table Nest. Baya Headland and Villa Nova Tobi cushions complete the setting, bringing a sense of cohesion and effortless, effortless elegance.
