Forte Forte

In English, Forte means ‘a thing at which someone excels’, in Italian, it means ‘strong’. When it comes to the fashion brand ‘Forte Forte’, and their latest boutique store, found in Rome, both meanings are true.

The store’s design, the work of brand co-founder Giada Forte and creative director Robert Vattiliana, is itself a piece of art. The duo wanted the interior to contrast with the building’s traditional cream stone exterior, stating that in Rome, “contrast is a form of harmony”.

For contrast, they’ve used other natural materials to create and incorporate a complementary yet standout style for the interior. Stunning marbled onyx floor, doors and panels adorn most of the boutique. White, clean lighting highlights the hues found in the ancient gemstone. Fitting rooms are padded in a plush, pale green velvet and there are large green plants around, to bring a fresh living element. Lengthy clothing racks are brass, as are the shelves and hangars. Some brass uniform panels accentuate the golden hue streaks found in the onyx.

Forte Forte are bold, yet classic and have great additions to combine with other pieces in your wardrobe.

Forte Forte

Forte Forte is the dream store for anyone wanting to add a little fun to their wardrobe, whilst considering timeless patterns, contemporary trends and innovative fabric choices. Their selection felt as if I was wandering through celebrity stylist Jennifer Michalski-Bray’s imagination, who’s sought after taste can be seen in the original Gossip Girl and Katherine Ryan’s The Duchess. I was delighted to find her following them on Instagram. Forte Forte are bold, yet classic and have great additions to combine with other pieces in your wardrobe.

The jersey dust coat with sparkles is a fine example of the brand’s showiness. The longline coat has an eye-catching metallic fibre detail outside, which catches the light and accentuates its springtime shimmer. The fabric is light and billowy, draping over a tighter outfit with ease while adding a casual but put together flare.

The ‘gelsomina’ print satin trousers have a liquid-like drape, inspired by pyjamas and the current wider leg style. The subtle-coloured checked trousers feature delicate lily applique and a fitted waist. Or their butter soft lace-up calfskin ankle boots, which have a chic vintage vibe. The slight balloon sleeve, light flare cuffs, fine detail patterns, poplin buttons and cord waist tie belt on this plumentis cotton shirt, make for an airily romantic, retro aesthetic. Daring to be dressed up or down with your wardrobe.

Like the store’s design, there’s no limit to the fashion of Forte Forte. Sparkles, dreamy leather, tailoring, silk, satin, cashmere, wool, linen, and such blend seamlessly into the story of this brand. As designer John Galliano once said, “the joy of dressing is an art”, which is a thing which Forte excels in providing.
