Shades of Clay

It all started with a vision: the idea of a building with near-zero heating, cooling or ventilation required.

People-focused with 100% natural indoor air quality and constant, feel-good indoor temperatures all year round equals good health and living well.

Now that vision has become a reality; the building is a promise.

A Porotherm Clay Block building promises excellent return on value, energy efficiency, and lifecycle costs. The promise is delivered exclusively by building physics; solid walls and ceilings that serve as insulation and thermal mass, giving you much more for your money.

A true forever home lasting many, many generations.

There’s just no comparison

Chris and Robyn MacPherson of MacPherson Architecture Ltd have been designing high-end homes for over 25 years.

Frustrated by the overall poor quality of NZ building materials, poor performance, and the minimal Level 3 most homes are built to with only a 10-year warranty on the biggest financial and emotional investment of a lifetime, they believe solid clay block homes offer a real solution.

Feeling is believing. When you walk into a Porotherm building and close the door, you are in a world of your own. The difference is like night and day. It’s quiet, peaceful, fresh, and 100% natural with interior lime plasters.

There’s just nothing like it

Stellaria NZ Ltd was formed by Chris and Robyn to import clay construction materials from their partner company, Wienerberger, Europe.

The New Cambridge Showhome

The new Porotherm Clay Block Showhome on 83 Swayne Rd, Cambridge, Waikato (not pictured) is a stunning showpiece of most of the products Chris and Robyn distribute throughout NZ.

Terca Clay facing bricks coupled with breathable plaster on the block finishes the exterior. The roof is Koramic clay roof tiles, and the exterior paving is the Penter pavers also produced by Wienerberger. Chris and Robyn import seven different building materials manufactured by Wienerberger.

The joinery is Internorm from Austria and Kitchen is by Zampieri, Italy. Breathable lime plaster interior walls.

Seeing is believing

The team at Stellaria NZ & MacPherson Architecture would love you to visit. For many of their special clients and professionals, Chris and Robyn have invited them to stay overnight in the showhome to experience the different living environment and enjoy a weekend in beautiful Cambridge.

“You just have to be in it and feel the walls. There is no way to truly describe how it feels until you know – and then you know,” says Robyn MacPherson of Stellaria.
