This display of the season’s best can double up as a light dessert or as a brunch centrepiece.
No animals were harmed in the making of these beauties, but I have to say I massacred a few plants. But happily, the result is utterly delish. You can either make little mini rolls for a party or finger-food, or serve them larger like this as part of a meal with potatoes and salad or veges. Not a sausage, a snausage!
These onions are sweet inside, charred at the edges and swimming in a tart pomegranate syrup.
Courgettes aren’t strictly speaking controversial, but they do tend to get a
pretty lukewarm reaction from many, including, regrettably, two of our test
kitchen colleagues.
